How would you describe your art in a few words?: I would describe my art as colorful, expressive, and inspired by nature and everyday beauty. I love using watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media to create pieces that feel bright, emotional, and full of life

What do you love most about Clermont?: I love how it feels welcoming and peaceful, while still being full of creativity, history, and local character.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Art connects us to history by helping us see and feel the stories of the past in a personal way.

How would you describe your art in a few words?: I dabble in a bit of everything but I tend to go towards Florida landscapes and cult classic horror.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: Clermonts art community is paving the way and setting an example for other communities to grow. I absolutely love what they are doing there and it’s an honor to be apart of this installation.

What do you love most about Clermont?: The growth, but not in the sense where it’s a bunch of box stores, but growth in a meaningful way. The community cares about its residents, artists and everything in between.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Each of our paintings will tell a story just by looking at them. It’s a beautiful way to instill history for the future. Each shop, landscape or even the residents of the time it’s a beautiful thing to look back on and see how much progress has been made since.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: Allows each artist to come up with their own vision and interpretation of Clermont through use of historical photos.

What do you love most about Clermont?: The beautiful views of nature, the plants and the wildlife situated near Lake Minneola.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Art always has an amazing ability to bring people together through the use of creativity and unique expression.

How would you describe your art in a few words?: My art is like a living memory, blurry yet captures all the feeling you forgot about. No details to get lost in just emotion.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: I’m very excited to get to work on something a little out of my box. I love the idea of something I make benefiting the City of Clermont. Art is such an important aspect to communities and I think it is often forgotten in this day and age.

What do you love most about Clermont?: It feels like home even if you aren’t from there. The hills feel like a warm hug especially in a state that is entirely flat.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Even if you aren’t an “art lover” I believe in the power of seeing a moment captured on a canvas. Sometimes photos can’t evoke the emotion that paint can. It is so human and brings all walks of life together without words.

How would you describe your art in a few words?: A highly saturated, painterly style, with a mix of realism meets surrealism. Often with deeper meaning, not seen at first glance.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: What excited me most about this project was the opportunity to take an inside look at some historic photographs, and then choosing one to reimagine through my own perspective, bringing the past into the present moment. In a way, it feels like a collaboration with a stranger(or strangers) and a fellow artist from the past—which I think is such a fun and unique way to use art to stay connected to the roots and history of Clermont.

How would you describe your art in a few words?: My art is a blend of contemporary realism, surreal narrative, and playful observational studies.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: When I moved from Colorado 10 years ago, Clermont felt the most like home. Over the years I've come to love the community, the nature, and the quiet peace this town offers. I'm excited to be apart of the 'With Love from Clermont' project because it gives me the unique opportunity to capture a snapshot of history and highlight the beauty I see everyday in our little town.

What do you love most about Clermont?: As an artist, my favorite thing about Clermont is its complexity of beauty. In a short drive you can find lush pastures, beautiful lakes, rolling hills, wild trails, and a quiant main street. There is beauty tucked into every corner of this town.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: History doesn't just live in textbooks—it surrounds us in the tangible traces left behind by past generations. As an artist, I carry the unique privilege of documenting my time. Art captures the pulse of an era, preserving the human experience long after it passes. It acts as a bridge, translating quiet, personal observations into shared connection. By cultivating a vibrant artistic legacy, we invite our community into a deeper conversation about where we’ve been, who we are, and where we are going.

What do you love most about Clermont?: Although I live in Hernando County, I have ridden my bike on the trail in Clermont and love the area especially around Lake Minneola!

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Art documents our lives and should be used to record and pass down events to future generations. Historical expression.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: I'm excited to take a piece of Clermont's history and put my own artistic spin on it. I really like the idea of taking an old photograph and making it feel alive again through painting.

What do you love most about Clermont?: I love the combination of Clermont's natural beauty, history, and sense of community. There's a lot of character here, and I think that's what makes it such an interesting place to create art.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Art gives people a way to experience history rather than just read about it. I think taking an old photograph and reinterpreting it can make people curious about the story behind it and help them feel more connected to the place they live.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: I absolutely loved looking through the Historical photos, each with an untold story. I was excited to be using art help bring history to life in a creative way.

What do you love most about Clermont?: I love the small town charm with shops and cafés. The character of the brick streets that connect historic downtown to the beautiful waterfront.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Art has played such an important role throughout history. A lot of history is discovered through our ancient ancestors artwork. Therefore using artists to breathe life into these historical photos sparks a new interest in learning about the history the art is representing.

How would you describe your art in a few words?: My art combines acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media, using layered brushwork, expressive textures, and fine detail to capture the beauty and character of nature.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: What excited me the most about being part of With Love From Clermont, is that for the last few months I have been part of an ongoing project taking photos from all over central Florida and other areas of Florida and turning them into watercolor paintings. To be able to do this on a larger scale, specifically for Clermont, a ton that I love, was an opportunity I could not pass up!

What do you love most about Clermont?: Growing up in New Jersey, I miss the small town feel that walking around Princeton on the weekends had… moving here and seeing downtown Clermont, the market filling the streets on Sunday and the people walking around reminded me of what it felt like there, but even more of a sense of community!

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Personally, I feel that art brings everyone together. A simple painting can bring two people together from different backgrounds and have them sharing for hours their love of the work, their town, whatever emotion that individual piece of art brings out of them! Art invokes emotion and creates community connections just by hanging up or being shown!

How would you describe your art in a few words?: Colorful, expressive and imperfect. I like art that feels alive and not too planned.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: I think the idea itself is really special. I love painting, but most of my work is something I create on my own, so the idea of making something that will actually be out in Clermont for other people to see and enjoy is exciting to me.

What do you love most about Clermont?: I love that Clermont is growing but still feels like a community. Downtown especially has so much character, and I love seeing the small businesses, events and families out together.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: I think art makes people stop and notice things they might normally walk past. It can take something from the history of a place and make it feel interesting and relevant again. And when the art is made by people from the community, I think it makes it even more personal because everyone brings a little bit of their own perspective to it.

It can capture memories, emotions, landmarks, people, and little details that might otherwise be forgotten. I think it helps us celebrate where we’ve been while creating something meaningful for the people who are part of the community now.

What do you love most about Clermont?: Clermont exudes charm, excitement and fun! The foodie scene has just become one of the best. All this and it is totally walkable; it has a BEACH, and the most incredible sense of community! It welcomes everyone: artists, foodies, exercise enthusiasts, readers, coffee lovers, and pet lovers!

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Art is like music. There is no language barrier. It makes everyone feel something unique to them…no right, no wrong, just emotion.

How would you describe your art in a few words?: I enjoy creating images that express emotion and inspire people to the beauty of the world around them. Whether it's birds, horses, people or scenic images highlighting God's creation. All designed to give people hope through the emotions they feel looking at my art. That's always a good day.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: I've lived here for about 30 years now moving from my birthplace of Jacksonville Florida (I'm a native). I was working in Orlando at a theme park and wanted to be "far away" from the tourism. We settled on Clermont back when it was basically one traffic light. I have enjoyed skiing the lakes and wakeboarding as well as the nature walks. Developing a postcard for the area seemed like a really fun project especially using a retro formate to pay homage to the history of both the printed piece as well as the history of this area.

What do you love most about Clermont?: We really love the small town appeal, the lakes and the hills. Even as we are now busting at the seams with traffic and more population, it still has the charm that keeps us here. I enjoy being on the CFSLC board and being able to designate $$ to local non-profits to help the community during our grant cycles.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Art/images, whether paintings, drawings, photography or literature connect people emotionally in different ways. Seeing or reading the history of how anyplace began always connects that path to modern day living and experiences. Seeing a treet name and knowing it was names after a person who helped build the place you now live and even meeting their decendents who still live and work here is exciting as well. Art can help create a literal connection so the "past" is closer to today than you think.

How would you describe your art in a few words?: My art is detailed and my style is adaptable. Art permeates all facets of my life; be it a camera on a film set, a paint brush in nature, or crafting at home with my kids. Energetic and outspoken one day, then in the still and quiet details the next. Art is resilient.

What do you love most about Clermont?: I love that Clermont holds on to the picturesque old world charm while also keeping up with modern amenities and entertainment.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Art is a language we all speak. It’s a living record depicting seasons of triumph, pain, survival, or pride throughout the centuries. With a paint brush as our sword, a song as our hug, or a movie as our language we connect to each other through all other barriers.

What do you love most about Clermont?: Clermont has grown a lot in the 8 years I've lived here, but it retains its small-town feel and charm while offering some amazing experiences to both visitors and locals.

It provides a visual record of the experiences shared by the people who live, work, and celebrate together. Local art gives us a chance to recognize ourself in the creative output of our neighbors. How would you describe your art in a few words?: I describe it as “Classical Representational”. I do not seek to change what it is but to paint and present it as I perceive it at that time. I paint plein air whenever possible and do studio pieces. My favorite things to paint are those depicting nature and old Florida.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: I like the idea of painting a piece of history in a postcard type setting. It sounded intriguing.

What do you love most about Clermont?: I’ve always liked Clermont, the lakes and the fantastic cypress trees you have. Many beautiful places to paint.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: I learned a piece of history, just by be being involved in this project. While looking through the album choices, I selected a crate company and found out that Clermont was once a tomato hub area. So many people associate fruit like oranges with Florida, no one thinks tomatoes.

How would you describe your art in a few words?: Inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds her, Connie’s work seeks to capture the essence of nature, emphasizing the delicate details and fleeting moments that often go unnoticed in the hustle of everyday life. What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: We lived in Clermont in the late 80's early 90's. Moved back home to New Hampshire to be with family but have fond memories of Clermont, loved it then and still love it. Presently living in Winter Haven so close enough for events.

What do you love most about Clermont?: We love how the the downtown are has improved. Still very quaint but lots more store fronts filled now. We also love the lakes in the area.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Art can evoke feelings and emotions, with that being said as people view art it helps take them to the place and time where that image was created.

How would you describe your art in a few words?: My art is whimsical, colorful and aims to share the beauty of nature. My goal is to give joy and peace to the viewer.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: As a Clermont native, I’m happy that its history is being preserved and honored in such a creative way. I hope that it can inspire people of all ages to take interest in the city’s vibrant history.

What do you love most about Clermont?: What I love most about my town is how beautiful its landscape and people are. I’ve seen so many changes and growth but the heart of Clermont remains the same.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Visual language can only further the human connection between history and community. When looking at a work of art one can see the hand that made it and be inspired to take that hand; whether that be to create or share in the storytelling.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: I was really excited by the idea of getting to put my own colorful, whimsical spin on a piece of Clermont’s history. I love projects that give me the chance to make something feel playful and new while still honoring where it came from. It also feels really special knowing the finished piece will become part of the community and something people can actually see and enjoy.

What do you love most about Clermont?: I love how Clermont has this really charming sense of community while still having so much personality of its own. There’s a mix of history, local businesses, art, nature, and people who genuinely care about the area. I especially love seeing places find creative ways to celebrate what makes their town unique instead of letting that history get lost.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: I think art has a way of making history feel alive instead of like something that only exists in old photographs or books. It gives us a chance to take stories from the past and reinterpret them in a way that feels exciting and relatable to people now. How would you describe your art in a few words?: Fun, bold, and colorful paintings with a lot of character!

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: I was excited to get back into art again after spending time being mom to my two little kids, Theo and Frankie! I also wanted to pay tribute to this place we have called home (and absolutely loved) since 2024!

What do you love most about Clermont?: I love how engaged everyone is with the nature and the community that we are so lucky to have in Clermont. Seeing folks out being active at Hiawatha Nature Preserve, Waterfront Park, and all along the trail has brought us outside more. The welcoming Main Street downtown provides a beautiful space for events and evening strolls. And above all, the people who we meet are kind, family first, and love this place just as much as we do. We are so lucky to call Clermont home!

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: I think of all those photos that we had to choose from and know that so many of Clermont’s residents would never even know they exist if this project wasn’t bringing them back to life. Art created by artists is more important now than ever, to really solidify that people back then, people now, and people of the future all share that same beating heart.

What do you love most about Clermont?: I've not spend time directly in Clermont, but each week for many many years when I was a kid, we would travel to Orlando from New port richey, & always enjoyed driving through Clermont, something special there & I loved the feel of the area.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Art connects us to history and community by acting as a living record of human experience that bridges time and brings people together through shared raw emotions.

How would you describe your art in a few words?: A nostalgic, whimsical homage to old times Clermont.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: I am pretty new to the area, so l am excited to dive into the local art community. I love the concept of multiple artists applying their own take on vintage photographs- it will color Clermont with beautiful new dresses. I feel honored to add my creation to this amazing showcase of hometown pride. And I as well love the idea of printing postcards of the exhibited paintings-Clermont's beauty and the artist’s vision will travel the world!

What do you love most about Clermont?: Floridian lush vegetation combined with hills, a striving art community and the feel of tradition and history-what's not to love ? Coming from Germany, I especially admire the American sense of community and history.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Art brings smiles on faces and people together without force, no words are needed to show community spirit and the beauty of an area. Nothing opens your mind more for history, tradition and community than seeing it through the filter of an art project. There is no right or wrong in an art creation- it’s open for everyone’s feelings and preferences.

How would you describe your art in a few words?: Hi there! I’m Bridget Hartig, an Orlando-based mural artist and live painter creating colorful, large-scale artwork for businesses, public spaces, and communities throughout Central Florida. Along with murals and public art, I also create commissioned pieces and custom artwork for both individuals and businesses. My work is guided by a love of vibrant color, playful expression, and joyous visual storytelling, resulting in art that captures attention, sparks connection, reflects local identity, and celebrates the spirit of joie de vivre within us all.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: I am excited to be part of With Love from Clermont because getting to reimagine historical images is such a fun challenge as an artist. I was the lead artist on a similar project last year with City District Orlando, where we created a 12 month calendar featuring watercolor portraits of Downtown Orlando’s historic architecture. To be able to honor the area’s rich history, whilst creating an art piece that helps modern people connect with the lives of those in the past, is such a special treat as an artist.

What do you love most about Clermont?: What I love most about Clermont is its historic downtown area, especially on Farmer’s Market Sundays! It is so lovely to be able to stroll the historic area, while checking out local vendors, hearing live music, and grabbing a bite to eat.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Art has a special way of connecting people to both their local history and their present-day community. Working on a project like With Love from Clermont, where we as artists get to breathe new life into historic photographs, is a meaningful example of how art can create connections across time. As I painted, I often thought about the three men in my selected photograph. Though unnamed, I wondered what their lives, families, friendships, and communities looked like and how they may not have been so different from our own. Reimagining this photograph through art helped me look beyond the history itself and connect with the people who lived it. Through this project, I hope others are encouraged to see local history in a more personal, relatable way too.

How would you describe your art in a few words?: My artwork is inspired by the joy found in everyday life, with vibrant colors, music, coffee, nature, and meaningful moments. Love the poinciana trees their vibrant beauty holds a very special meaning for me and reminds me of a beloved family member I love creating expressive, colorful pieces that capture a sense of happiness, energy, and positivity. Through my art, I aim to share that same feeling of joy and connection with others.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: The opportunity to share my art and creativity with the community. I love bringing vibrant colors, happiness, and positive energy into my artwork, and I’m excited to connect with others who appreciate and support local artists. It feels special to be part of something that celebrates creativity and brings people together.

What do you love most about Clermont?: I love the wonderful scenery, peaceful and charm. I love seeing the birds, enjoying the delicious local food, walking by the lake and especially the hills and views that make Clermont feel so unique. There’s something relaxing and inspiring about the natural beauty here.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: I think art is a beautiful way to connect us to history and community because it tells stories that words sometimes can’t. Through colors, images, and creativity, we can preserve memories, celebrate where we come from, and share the traditions and experiences that make a community special. Art also brings people together by giving us a way to connect, appreciate each other, and create new memories together.

How would you describe your art in a few words?: Central Florida Artist creating nature-obsessed whimsical or macabre art using color and texture as a form of expression through acrylic and mixed media.

What excited you most about being part of With Love from Clermont?: I loved the idea of reimagining vintage photos of downtown Clermont. Knowing they would all be sepia, I was so excited to be able to colorize the inspiration photo bringing a whole new life to it.

What do you love most about Clermont?: The rolling hills, beautiful sunsets and that old Florida feel.

How do you think art can help connect us to history and community?: Exactly that! It's all about connections. Art can honor the past, show our history, help us grow and just bring joy. It can evoke emotions or can bring us back to a core memory.
